Fifth House Ensemble presents a concert of works by women composers who attended their Fresh Inc Festival. Fifth House is a Chicago-based, touring and nationally recognized chamber ensemble.
Praised by the New York Times for its "conviction, authority, and finesse," the Chicago-based Fifth House Ensemble founded a new music festival in 2012. Fresh Inc Festival has helped emerging artists envision and launch their own authentic careers in music, rooted in genre-defying collaboration, entrepreneurial thinking, and new dialogues with audiences and community. The festival's Fresh Voices program was created to provide dedicated scholarship support to Fresh Inc festival participants who are female, artists of color, and/or LGBTQ-identified, filling an industry-wide need to amplify voices under-represented by major institutions. This concert program showcases works by women composers who attended the festival - some of the freshest young voices amongst us. This concert is presented in collaboration with the Northbrook Arts Commission.
This program will be held virtually. On the day of the concert, please check your email for a link to view the performance.
