The Tango with Winnie Quartet featuring bandoneon, piano, violin, and bass presents the spirit of tango which embodies the way people lived and live today in its home of Buenos Aires. The rich variety of rhythms capture the footsteps of the people. The melodies and how they are phrased represent the way they talk. For Winnie, tango has deep magic: it reawakens memories of the body and of the mind; it tolerates differences; it shares cultures. This is why it is important for her to bring live tango dance and music to both classic and unconventional tango corners of the world: concert halls, milongas, art galleries, farmers markets, K-12 schools, universities, dementia homes, assisted living spaces, prisons, town-wide multicultural celebrations, and more. The Tango with Winnie Quartet is excited to return to Northbrook to perform the classics of Troilo, Pugliese and Gobbi alongside tango composers of today. All ages and levels of mobility welcome - we invite you to come dance with us!
