Merging traditional klezmer dance music with classical finesse and a healthy dose of quirky humor, the Maxwell Street Klezmer Quintet has been sharing the Joy of Klez with audiences since 1983.

Merging traditional klezmer dance music with classical finesse and a healthy dose of quirky humor, the Maxwell Street Klezmer Quintet has been sharing the Joy of Klez with audiences since 1983. The band has performed traditional and original klezmer and Yiddish music at Carnegie Hall, with Lyric Opera of Chicago, and abroad. Led by master violinist Alex Koffman and vocalist Lori Lippitz, the band just celebrated the 30th anniversary of their youth band, the Maxwell Street Junior Klezmer Orchestra. 

The quintet will include vocals, violin, clarinet, piano, and strong bass.
