Northbrook Garden Club teaches a simple, low-cost method for growing native plants & winter vegetables using recycled containers. Make your own seeded mini greenhouse that can stay outside all winter.
Native plants often require certain conditions for successful germination. This practical program will show the steps involved in winter sowing of native plant seeds and how the milkjug winter sowing technique meets their germination requirements. We will learn how the milkjug provides protection for the tiny seedlings once germinated and when and how to pot them up or plant them in your yard.
Join us to learn more about this low cost and easy way to produce an abundance of native plants and vegetables to enhance your home landscaping and your winter produce supply.
Milkjugs, soil and seeds will be provided.
