Cellist Alexa Muhly and pianist Hiroko Nagahata have enjoyed collaborating since 2014. In 2019, they released their first album Irving, which received critical reviews on New York Concert Review and Fanfare Magazine. With various guest players, they have been performing in venues such as International House of University of Chicago, PianoForte, and Chicago public libraries. Ms. Muhly is a sought-after cellist who has played solo, orchestral, and chamber music internationally. She held a tenured principal cello position at Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra until 2004. Ms. Nagahata is an active pianist for solo and accompanying since her solo debut recital in Carnegie Hall in 2009.
