Pushcart Prize winning author Blair Hurley will talk about what makes a great pitch, from finding the beating heart of your story to communicating what makes it matter on the page.

Pushcart Prize winning author Blair Hurley will talk about what makes a great pitch, from finding the beating heart of your story to communicating what makes it matter on the page. We'll look at sample pitches and do exercises to explore what is unique, suspenseful, and engaging about the stories we're writing, and go over the fundamentals of query letter etiquette and form. This course will include open discussion and plenty of time for questions about the publishing process, including resources for how to begin your search.

In partnership with StoryStudio Chicago.
