Watch the Oscar-winning short documentary about girls, school, and menstruation. Panel discussion follows with a local and global focus.
Join us for a screening of the Oscar-winning short documentary about girls, school, and menstruation. In many communities around the world girls miss school or drop out entirely because they don’t have access to period supplies. In a rural village in India, a sanitary pad machine is installed and women learn to manufacture their own pads, transforming the lives of girls and women.
Chicagoland women and girls face challenges too. Stay for a panel discussion about how low-income women locally and abroad cope with these struggles. Panelists include The Period Collective which serves low-income women in Cook & Lake counties and Dr. Leah Neubauer, professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University.
In partnership with NCJW-Chicago North Shore
Please consider bringing pads and tampons to be donated to Chicagoland women and girls in need.
